This is another ministry that doesn't take much extra time but is very necessary to the church services. Ushers greet and hand out bulletins at the doors to the Sanctuary and Fellowship Hall, hand out welcome packets to visitors, take the offering, distribute and collect the attendance pads in the contemporary service, and (if assigned to the first Sunday of the month) assist with communion. Ushers arrive 20 minutes before the service and are assigned duty as their schedule permits. The people in charge are very willing to work out a schedule to fit with yours whether it is for a committed period of time or just to substitute as needed.
