Sermon Series
2026 Sermon Series January 4-February 15 "Glory Revealed"
Join us in the new year as we look at “Glory Revealed!” This is about an attitude check within our hearts and minds as we ponder the Light of the World. Throughout Advent, we were waiting and waiting and waiting for the Messiah to come. It seems we quickly celebrate the birth of Jesus – Emmanuel - the incarnation of God, who came to earth and then we quickly move on. Because Jesus came down to earth to walk with us and talk with us, how then shall we live our lives? How should we be walking in the light of God’s love and sharing God’s love and grace with everyone we meet? This sermon series will begin on Sunday, January 4th, as we journey with the wisemen as they followed the star in the sky. Their lives were dramatically changed. This marks Epiphany, which is all about light. This winter, let’s ponder the greatest gift of all we received who is the Light of the World – Christ Jesus, our Lord. Let us stand on the promises of God for His glory has been revealed for all people. This is good news for all people, for our God is good!

Sermon Title: Our Moral Compass
Scripture: 2 Peter 1:3-8
God has given us everything we need to live a life that reflects His character. Through our Scripture passage, we are reminded that our moral compass is shaped not by culture or convenience, but by God’s power and His promises. As we grow in faith, goodness, knowledge, self‑control, perseverance, godliness, mutual affection, and love, our lives become steady, fruitful, and aligned with Christ. Who or what is leading you in your journey through life? Where is your compass pointed?

Sermon Title: Glory Revealed
Scripture: Matthew 17:1-9
Jesus is on the mountain where He is transfigured. This is about His glory being revealed. This is an affirmation about who He is: He is the Son of God, the Beloved. Peter, James, and John were told to listen to Him. This is an affirmation of the love of God once again being revealed through Christ Jesus – the Light of the World. Where have you seen Glory revealed? How are you listening to Jesus? What do you need to hear? What is it like for you to know that you are loved and that you, too, are God’s beloved?
2026 Lenten Sermon Series:
Questions Jesus Still Asks Jesus asked a lot of questions. His questions may seem simple, but they are profound and cause us to think. The questions Jesus asks can be spiritually disruptive in the best possible way. We will look at one of Jesus’s questions each week and we will ponder what it means in our lives. During this season of Lent, may we let the questions of Jesus search us, shape us, transform us, and lead us to resurrection.

Sermon Title: What Are You Looking For?
Scripture: John 1:35-39
Upon seeing Jesus, two disciples began to follow him. Jesus turned to them and asked them a powerful question. This is a question we need to answer, as well. This question is about desire, direction and a deep longing of the soul. This should cause us to pause and name what we truly are seeking. Lent begins by confronting our desires – because discipleship starts with honesty.

March 29: Palm/Passion Sunday
Sermon: From Hosanna to Crucify: Holding the Tension of Holy Week
Scripture: Matthew 21:1-11
Palm/Passion Sunday is emotionally complex as we begin by waiving palm branches in praise and thanksgiving but end with the shadow of the cross. We are forced to hold joy and sorrow together, triumph and tragedy together, celebration and suffering together. To be honest, this is the tension that feels a lot like everyday, ordinary life…this is real life. We worship a Savior whose love is stronger than we can imagine…stronger than betrayal, fear, violence and even death. Our God is always with us helping us to navigate through this tension. Hosanna! Hosanna! Blessed is the one who comes in the name of the Lord! Hosanna! Save us!
